Mercedes-AMG strategically reorganises its GT Sport division.

Mercedes AMG has taken groundbreaking measures to strategically reorganise its motorsport division to meet future requirements and plans. To this end, the performance and sports car brand of Mercedes Benz has founded a new subsidiary under the name “Affalterbach Racing GmbH”. In the future, the company will be responsible for all conceptual and technical customer sport activities of AMG, including the development of the new Mercedes AMG GT3.

AMG brand ambassador Bernd Schneider celebrates his 60th birthday.

Motorsport and the victories associated with it are deeply rooted in the DNA of Mercedes-AMG. Bernd Schneider (GER) was responsible for one of the great success stories in international motor racing. Now an AMG brand ambassador, he defined a remarkable era for the cars with the three-pointed star between 1991 and 2008 as record champion in the DTM and as world champion in the FIA GT Championship.

DTM at the Norisring: Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Maro Engel finishes on the podium in his 100th DTM race.

Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing finished on the podium once again at the DTM highlight at the Norisring. It was the fifth podium on the fourth race weekend of the current season for the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach. On his 100th DTM start, Maro Engel (GER) finished second for Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD on Sunday. In mixed weather conditions during the race weekend, the Mercedes-AMG drivers secured seven out of eight possible point-scoring results.
