It is regarded as THE biggest race in the world – the ADAC TOTAL 24h-Rennen at the Nürburgring (20-23 June). This year the endurance event is being staged for the 47th time and is once again attracting an impressive array of participants to Germany’s Eifel region. With 160 vehicles from many different classes, over 600 drivers will take turns driving and tackle the proverbial “Green Hell”, the legendary Nordschleife. Unlike any other circuit, this oldest section of the track is synonymous with thrilling motorsport, great successes and unforgettable moments, but also resounding defeats and bitter tragedies. As the world’s longest continuous race circuit, the Nordschleife section alone extends over 20.832 unforgiving kilometres. With 73 bends and a 300-meter difference in altitude, it demands maximum concentration and the full set of skills from the drivers.
It’s definitely one of the season highlights for Mercedes-AMG and expectations are high. After 2013 and 2016, the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach aims at securing its next victory in the classic endurance race. The brand’s presence off-track is as huge as its sporting goals: during the event, there is a comprehensive support programme with fan activities, a brand experience world, vehicle displays and further highlights for visitors. Racing spirit AMG style!
High-class driver and team line-up
During the season highlight at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport will be attacking again with a strong line-up. A total of seven Mercedes-AMG GT3s will be competing in the legendary endurance racing classic, four of them with extended factory support. The teams to run the Performance cars with their top line-ups are Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON and Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER. Meanwhile, plans for the three further Customer Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3s by GetSpeed Performance also look very promising.

Fan Base with attractive support programme
In and around the paddock at the Nürburgring area, fans can also look forward to an attractive support programme from Mercedes-AMG. The Fan Base at the north entrance of the paddock serves as the central port of call. Access to the brand experience world with a floor space of approximately 1,500 square metres is free for all spectators with a valid event ticket. From Friday until Sunday, there is a wealth of activities here, ranging from the pit stop challenge via photo actions up to the official autograph session of the Mercedes-AMG drivers that will take place on Friday (21 June) at 13.00 hrs. There will be regular live interviews and the race can be watched on a large video screen in the beer garden. On top of that, fascinating performance cars by Mercedes-AMG are on display at the Fan Base, including rare special-series models and interesting novelties. Further cars are on display in the Mercedes-AMG showroom (ring°boulevard).
Come over! We are looking forward to your visit!
Historic quadruple victory in 2016
In 2016, Mercedes-AMG celebrated the biggest success to date since the start of its AMG Customer Sports programme. In the 44th running of the ADAC Zurich 24h-Rennen Nürburgring, teams with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 locked out the first four places and took sixth position – a perfect debut in the Nürburgring 24-hour race for the GT3 car from Affalterbach. In the thrilling finale, the #29 car with Christian Hohenadel, Marco Seefried, Christian Vietoris and Renger van der Zande and the #4 entry with Bernd Schneider, Adam Christodoulou, Manuel Metzger and Maro Engel alternated in the lead. The final two laps turned out to be the exciting highlight: after a ‘splash and dash’ fuel stop just a few minutes before the duration of 24 hours was completed, final driver Hohenadel initially held on to a tiny lead from Engel. With a last-gasp overtaking move, Engel then took the lead and went on to drive victory for the AMG-Team BLACK FALCON home after 134 laps.
