The FIA GT World Cup on the streets of Macau is one of the most prestigious races in GT3 racing. Since 2008, GT3 cars have raced on the legendary Guia Circuit. Since 2015, the event has held the official title of FIA GT World Cup, with a Corona-related break between 2020 and 2022.
The event begins with two free practice sessions and a qualifying session to determine the grid positions for the qualifying race. The result of the qualifying race sets the grid for the main race.
Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing is the most successful manufacturer in Macau's 17-year GT3 history. We have clinched nine victories during this time, five of them in the FIA GT World Cup era. Maro Engel won the main race in 2015 and 2024. Raffaele Marciello, who won both in 2019 and 2023, has also been successful twice. Edoardo Mortara was victorious in 2017 with the Mercedes-AMG GT3. All five successes were crowned by winning the manufacturers' title. We have been undefeated at the Guia Circuit since 2019 and celebrated six wins in a row so far.
The FIA GT World Cup is embedded in the Macau Grand Prix, which takes place every year in mid-November.

FIA GT World Cup 2024
At the seventh edition of the FIA GT World Cup from 14th to 17th November, we once again defended our title with a victory for Maro Engel. Four Mercedes-AMG GT3s from three Asian Customer Racing Teams took on the challenge of the legendary Guia Circuit. In a spectacular main race, Maro celebrated a historic win for the Mercedes-AMG Team GMR on the street circuit. At the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 sporting a livery commemorating 130 Years of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport, he took his fourth victory around the streets of Macau. With this result he equalled the previous sole record holder, Edoardo Mortara. This was our ninth victory overall and sixth in a row, further extending our Macau record. Adding to this, we won the manufacturers' title for the fifth time. Daniel Juncadella finished in tenth place for the also Hong Kong-based Mercedes-AMG Team Craft-Bamboo Racing. In the sister car, Jules Gounon saw the chequered flag in 19th place after a mixed weekend. In his first GT3 race at Macau, Ralf Aron impressed for the Chinese Toro Racing outfit with twelfth place in the high-calibre field of 22 entries.
In the Greater Bay Area GT Cup which was held as part of the supporting programme, a total of seven Mercedes-AMG GT4s entered by three Customer Racing Teams took part. After last year's victory, we made it to the podium once again. Competing for Team TRC, local driver Kevin Tse took third place in the 28-car field.
FIA GT World Cup 2023
Raffaele Marciello contested his last race as an official Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau after seven extremely successful years together. He concluded the collaboration with a perfect weekend: Best time in first practice, P2 in second practice, track record in qualifying (2:14.542 minutes) and lights-to-flag victories in the qualifying and the main race. He was the first driver to win the FIA GT World Cup twice – and also the first driver to successfully defend his title in Macau. In the qualifying race, Maro Engel completed a double victory by finishing in second place. Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing also took the Manufacturers' title.
We further won the Greater Bay Area GT Cup, which took place on the weekend before the FIA GT World Cup this year. Hong Kong driver Darryl O'Young took victory in the #55 Mercedes-AMG GT3 from the Craft-Bamboo Racing customer racing team.
